The upgrade went better than expected but there are a lot of new features I need to learn to use, although I managed to get the new template thing working for this design. I really want to do a new layout for this site but I don’t have time just now and I’m lacking in inspiration. Every time I think I’ve come up with a cool idea, I make the mistake of visiting other sites with really fantastic looking layouts and graphics and I get all disheartened. *sigh* I’m just so crap at graphics!

My new fansite jason-gedrick.net has been selected as Celebrity Site of the Day on 22 February which was a great surprise. I just hope my bandwidth can stand the sudden influx of visitors!

I’ve just upgraded to the new version of WP so things are going to be a bit messy until I get my template sorted out. The new version looks very snazzy and it promises to handle comments spam better. Fingers crossed!

Somehow the dreaded bugs managed to breach my own personal echinacea force field and now I feel like shit. (Could be something to do with the fact that I kept forgetting to take them. :-)) Every time I sneeze - I feel like I’ve gone deaf until my ears pop - UGH!. I’m really trying not to freak here. Head colds tend to trigger my labrythinitis and I’m trying to convince myself that it won’t come to that. I’ve been feeling really good the last 6 months or so and I don’t want to start going backwards now. I hate - HATE - going through that dizziness shit - it’s frightening and totally debilitating.

So, on the plus side, I’m dutifully munching on large quantities of chocolate with absolutely no guilt whatsoever. It’s medicine - for my scratchy throat. God bless those scientist people!!

I’ve given in and switched the moderation feature back on the blog because I was hit by another deluge of spam. My referrer stats in Webalizer are chock full of different poker and drug site visitors and I’m not sure what to do about it - if anything.

On the plus side, I finished jason-gedrick.net and also the elite website directory I’d been planning. It is called Integrity and I will only be accepting sites who respect a celebrity’s private life.

I also closed down a couple of fanlistings that either weren’t attracting new members or I’d just lost interest in them.

It was good while it lasted but I’m getting spammed again by the poker guy, despite having the code thing on my page. The idea was for a random code to be typed in manually to stop bots from accessing the page but it obviously doesn’t work anymore. I’ve tried everything recommended on the Support Forums and I’m running out of ideas.

I’ve gone back to closing down old threads on a regular basis but I really don’t want to go back to moderating comments. I’m sick of this shit. I guess I’m going to have to wait on the boffins at WP coming up with something foolproof or the poker guy being hoisted on his own petard. Something needs to be done about spam once and for all.

Speaking of spam, I’ve noticed an increase on my personal e-mail address despite the fact that I never use it on the net and only personal friends know it. I’ve been tinkering around with the spam filters on Tbird and most of the spam is getting deleted straight from the server now and never even reaches my inbox. So, all you spammers out there, you are wasting your time bombarding me with this crap because I never even see it.
