Ah, it wouldn’t be a Easter weekend without all the rain! LOL! We had beautiful weather on Good Friday and it really felt like Spring but it soon deteriorated after that. The rain hasn’t bothered me all that much though because I’ve been playing The Sims all weekend on my laptop after buying a collector’s edition that has all the expansion packs. I can’t play The Sims 2 because my graphics card isn’t good enough but I’m quite happy with the original.

I don’t think it has really sunk in that I no longer have a job. I keep trying to fit in as much as I can at the weekend and have to remind myself that I have plenty time during the week to do things - hence the Sims time! I have an application form to fill in and fingers crossed I’ll get something out of that.

I also started a new story which has no title as yet. I’m getting good feedback on the The Gathering Storm which is good because I was a bit wary of the strong racist theme running through it. I put a warning at the beginning just in case but thankfully ppl seem to be liking it and understanding what it is all about.

Now’s the time when I start getting itchy fingers and want to create new websites to fill my time. LOL! Already applied for another fanlisting!

I finally ordered the DVD Recorder I’ve been lusting over for weeks. My present DVD player was just a cheap multi-region that I bought last year and I’ve never been happy with its playback quality. I guess you get what you pay for in the end. The DVD recorder is a Panasonic model that has the timeslip feature and is capable of recording in DVD RAM or DVD -R. I’m still trying to get my head around the whole thing but my brother assures me that it is a good quality player and the RAM aspect means better picture quality and the ability to watch something from the start even if I’m still recording. I’ll probably be tearing out my hair trying to figure out how to connect everything, especially since I’m not parting with my VCR just yet. I need to wait until all the shows I have recorded on blank tapes are released on DVD.

Speaking of TV shows, I have suddenly developed this addiction for Smallville out of the blue! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve watched the show from the start and enjoyed it but always felt it could be much better. Now, all of a sudden, I can’t get enough of it! I bought S2 on ebay for half the price it would’ve cost in the shops and started watching at the weekend. Now, I’m haunting ebay in the hopes of picking up a bargain for S1 and S3.

I think I’m finally getting the hang of the new features in WP 1.5 and have spent most of the afternoon changing my site so that everything on the main domain is powered via the blog. It took me a while to get my head around the sidebar and how to get the links to show the way I wanted them (that was one of the main reasons I didn’t use the link manager in previous versions) but I got there in the end.

I tried a few different pictures in the banner but just couldn’t come up with anything I liked so I decided to keep Victoria and the same colour scheme for now.

The only thing I couldn’t get to work properly was the Amazon Media Manager hack so it’s gone for now. I’m not sure why it won’t show because it was working okay before I changed the layout! *scratches head* Anyway, I can live without it for now!
