Just a quick note to say hosting at rainy-daze.net has been re-opened but I’ve decided to add an age restriction because of being messed around too much. I’m keeping the age limit to 13 and over for the time being.

I bought Serenity today so I’m off to watch! I’ve been waiting to see this for months.

It’s so bloody cold, I need to go find some socks before my toes fall off.

Lots of sick folks at work this week so that adds pressure on everyone else which is so not fun, on the plus side, my boss was one of the absent sickies. On top of that, i’m still doing overtime at the weekends and may do some during the week as well but I’m not overally keen on that. Who wants to spend all their time at work?

Needless to say, my internet life has taken a back seat to everything else and I really don’t have time to do much of anything. I really need to work on my family tree website but just don’t seem to get round to it.

I bought a few DVDs last week, including S3 of 21 Jump Street at a great price, so when I haven’t been working, I’ve been drooling over Johnny Depp. I also bought 6 of his movies in a sale yesterday and have been watching them all weekend. I love his movies, the more unconventional the better.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother with this blog because I write all my really personal stuff in my LJ…

I never actually realised how painful Valentine’s Day really could be until this year. Everywhere you look, you are bombarded with all the luvvy-duvvy shit about being with the one you love when all you want to do is curl up into a tiny ball and cry. You are reminded that you are no longer part of a couple and that you have been rejected by someone you still love. Someone you shared the past ten years of your life. Now you have to sit back and watch the mother of your children mess around with some other guy and you feel like you are worth nothing.

Valentine’s Day is like rubbing salt into a very raw wound.

Not a very descriptive title but it’s been a strange day….

Mum got a call from the carer who supervises the flats where my grandma lives, and said Grandma was ill and she wasn’t sure whether she should call an ambulance or not. Of course, that put the fear of God into my mum who is a very emotional person and she could barely tell me what was going on without choking up. And that kinda freaked me out and had me fearing the worst. Turns out an ambulance wasn’t necessary and it’s just an infection.

The exasperating thing about my grandma is she always insists she is feeling okay when she’s clearly not and she tries to ignore it in the hopes it will just go away. She gets these infections frequently and she *knows* they don’t go away. She is so damn stubborn! She is the only grandparent I have and I’m not ready to lose her just yet so I wish she would be honest with us and take care of herself a little more.

So, once my fears had been eased a little, I decided to tackle something I’ve been trying to do for a while - work out how to control the fanlistings I have on other domains through Enth on this domain. I’ve tried it a few times but failed miserably so today I decided to give it another go. It took me a while to convert the listings over to Enth and to work out the SQL permissions and stuff, but I did it! Yay! I was so chuffed with myself! So, now I know my fanlistings are a bit more secure than they were with Fanbase.

Oh, and my fave lippy is no longer available… *pokes Maybelline*

I lost another two hostees over at rainy-daze.net this week and when you consider the amount of space being used by my other hostees, you’d be lucky if it took up 50MB. It suits me fine because I’m kinda jaded with the whole hosting thing and I’ve decided to cut back on the space allocated there anyway - hence the reason hosting is closed.

I’m actually hosting a couple of domains for friends which don’t take up a whole lot of disk space but it’s just as well because I had to add more space to MCO recently. The gallery is just so big over there now and of course it has priority over everything else, even my personal domain.

I’ve also got three domains coming up for renewal soon. *sigh*

Yeah, I know, I only just put up a new layout and here I go again. Well, I loved this layout when I saw it on Jelena’s blog at endless-light.com and when I noticed it was available for download - I just couldn’t resist. I’m actually toying with the idea of paying her to do an exclusive layout for here because she is so talented. I have to think about it though because I get bored so quickly with layouts and it would be a real shame to change it within weeks.

The problems at work have all been resolved for now which is just as well because we are going through another really cold snap. It’s a shame you can’t fix people so easily. Most of the people I work with are okay but there are one or two of them so up themselves, I feel like slapping them. I’m beginning to think the top skills required to be a manager are an ability to annoy and the ability to switch of the logical part of your brain while assigning tasks. They should really learn to leave the complicated tasks to those who actually carry them out on a daily basis, and above all, to take a vow not to meddle with things they know nothing about.
