Villas Villas VillasPosted on April 19th, 2006 @ 10:55 am
The last few days I’ve been visiting load of holiday sites, trying to work out the best and cheapest ways of booking holidays in Florida. A lot of the hotels and resorts charge PER PERSON and that was really hiking up our budget, however this morning I’ve been looking at private villa rentals which charge PER WEEK and it will be so much better. I’ve bookmarked a few that are minutes away from the theme parks and are also child-friendly with either fences around the pool or alarmed doors to them. The photos are amazing and they have every luxury you could ever want, including playstations for the kids and internet access for us big kids.
That would leave us to work out the costs of the flights, tickets into the parks and maybe hiring transport. God, I’m getting so excited!

Mamma Mia!Posted on April 18th, 2006 @ 10:54 am
I went to see Mamma Mia! last night and it was so good. I’m not an ABBA fan at all but I think there were only two songs I didn’t recognise. It was really well done and was so much fun. There must have been some ABBA enthusiasts in the audience though because every now and again, someone would start clapping or stamping their feet along to the songs. The end was brilliant when the cast came back on and sang Mamma Mia!, Dancing Queen and Waterloo disco-style - complete with platforms. Most of the audience were on their feet by this time and there was one guy on the opposite end of the theatre who was waving his arms about and really getting into it. It was so funny and he wasn’t young either!
The evening almost ended in disaster though when I ended up sitting in the back of an ambulance after someone (not me!) took a tumble down some stairs. No one was hurt and there was more embarrassment than anything else but it could have been a lot worse. I’m saving the details for my LJ because it is a bit personal. I really need to work out how to restrict some posts on this thing.

Stuck in a BoxPosted on April 1st, 2006 @ 10:53 am
We cleared everything out of my bedroom yesterday, including about a million books, CDs and DVDs. My dad actually asked me if I really needed all those books, my mum laughed and said some ppl were intelligent and I’d read them all - which is more or less true. I swear they don’t look so bad when they are on the shelves but we had to unload them all to shift both my bookcases into the other room and they just got piled back on haphazardly. So now I’m on the look out for decent looking media storage that has all the attributes of the Tardis.
The bad news about being stuck in the other room is I have to climb over everything to get near my bed and it also means I have to do without cable for the next few days. I still have my DVD recorder set up so none of the settings would be erased so I can at least watch DVD. (If I can find them….) I still have my laptop and internet connection though, thank goodness, or I’d really be tearing my hair out. We went to Stirling this morning and ordered a new bed which will arrive after the bedroom is decorated. I’m really looking forward to sleeping in a comfortable bed that doesn’t “fart” every time I move. It wasn’t too expensive either.
I actually feel like crap today. Yesterday afternoon, I started getting a headache - one of those bad ones that make me feel sick to my stomach. I finally gave up and went to bed early but then Fifty Something Asshole next door started playing music really loud just as I was nodding off. He didn’t put a sock in it until well after 3 in the morning. I swear if I had magical abilities, he’d either be toast right now or his house would be stuck on the Moon. The man is a f**king moron and has no consideration for others. He literally does got grasp the fact that some ppl have to get up early to work for a living and if we complain we are “spoiling his enjoyment”. It’s alright for him - the lazy bastard can stay in bed all day and leech of us taxpayers. Get a job, asshole!!!
So, um, yeah, I’m tired, cranky and nauseous…..
