I’m so freaking tired of everything going wrong. The past few weeks have been so stressful it basically screwed up my sleeping patterns and gave me a lot of stress headaches. Last night, I just felt so defeated, I wanted to curl up and cry. I was fighting a migraine and feeling thoroughly miserable.

Mum and I sent away an inscription for Grandma to go into the Book of Remembrance at our local crematorium and it was sent back today with a note saying it couldn’t be accepted because my uncle signed all the previous paperwork. We need him to countersign the application for the inscription. Have you ever heard anything so stupid?

Now, Florida is up in the air because my brother’s boss is being a total bastard about giving him time off in Sept 07. He wants all his staff to take the same holidays, right in the middle of the Summer, where it will be too hot for the kids and even more expensive. Our option is to go without the kids but they were the whole point of going in the first place. The bossman is a millionaire so he can go wherever and whenever he wants and he is so stubborn, he won’t back down. Personally, I’m so fed up of his brattish behaviour, I’d be telling him to stick his job where the sun don’t shine. He’s being a total asshole. The jerk!

I feel like screaming very loudly!

Today, we took the rest of Grandma’s furniture over to my brother’s house in Glenrothes and got it sorted out before hitting the shops. It was just the girls this time - my mum, my aunt, my niece and myself. The shopping centre was really busy compared to a Sunday when we usually go but I didn’t buy anything. Afterwards, we headed over to Kirkcaldy and spent endless hours looking for curtains for my mum that just “had to be the perfect shade”. I’ll admit I’m not much of a domestic goddess and I really can’t be bothered spending ages looking at curtains and wallpaper.

Once we’d had our fill of the shops (me quicker than the rest), we decided to take the scenic route home and headed along the coast, through Kinghorn and Burntisland. Neither place is much to look at these days but my mum used to go to Kinghorn on holiday when she was a child back in the days when families just didn’t go abroad. Most of the quaint old buildings have long gone and been replaced by hideous buildings from the Seventies that just have no look to them at all.

We stopped at little restaurant just outside of Rosyth to have a meal but it wasn’t that great. The dessert was probably the best part, but isn’t it always? Anyway, we’re sure they screwed up the bill because it was a lot cheaper than it should have been but it sort of made up for the lousy main course and lack of decent vegetarian choices.

So, now I’m just going to relax the rest of the evening and watch Walk The Line.

It’s over. Grandma’s house has been cleared and the keys handed in. I’m not sure how I feel - I just know that the longing to see her is as fierce as ever and I don’t think it is going to fade any time soon. I avoided going up to the house while everything was being packed because I wanted to remember the place as it was and not as some empty shell.

I think about her every, single day - sometimes I smile, other times I cry.

Woo hoo! I survived another week in the Hellmouth and my partner in crime comes back on Tues. She won’t be so glad to be back but I sure as heck will be glad to see her. We had a lot of ppl go home sick today and I’m wondering if this is just the beginning because we are all tired and under a lot of stress. Really, we all deserve HUGE bonuses for sticking around but I’m not holding my breathe because this is the govt I’m talking about here.

I guess Summer is over. It’s absolutely pissing down with rain but I don’t mind because I love listening to the rain, especially when I’m going to bed. Yeah, I’m wierd. The nights are starting to draw in too and I love closing the curtains and shutting out the world on winter nights.

I’m on auntie duty this weekend. We’re taking the kids up the town to buy Nephew #1 a birthday present so the other two will probably end up with something as well. I hate going into town on a Saturday because it is always so busy but it can’t be helped.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my T13 this week. I didn’t get much time to visit others because my connection went wierd on me but it’s just as well because I was so tired I was going cross-eyed.
