Disposable World

Welcome to the world of disposable contact lenses! After a great deal of faffing around, I finally was allowed to take my new contacts home today after a few handling lessons instore. I’ve been a lens wearer for many years but with gas permeables so I had to practice inserting and removing all over again with the soft lenses which are much bigger. I was a but nervous about taking them out because I used to just blink my lenses out before and now I have to actually use my fingers to pull them out. I succeeded first go which was a great relief. I think because I’ve been a lens wearer for such a long time, the idea of fingers in my eyes doesn’t phase me as much as a new wearer.

They feel quite comfortable although I don’t think my vision is as sharp as it was with the GPs but I was warned about that. Anyway, it’s early days yet and I have to get used to them before I make any final decisions.

I have been neglecting reading blogs for the past two weeks or more. I was a bit busy.
I like your new layout! The muted browns are really nice.
    I love the Yoga Gal.

I don’t have contacts, but I do have an eye condition which requires me to touch my eye each day, and apply artificial tears to my inner lids.
I know how one could feel nervous about touching your eyeball.

I used contacts way back, but was tired of all the cleaning and stuff. I guess they are better now and maybe I should give it a try. I king of like my glasses though, so who knows.
