I started back at work on Monday after my 3 week holiday and I actually found it quite hard getting back into working mode. Of course, everyone wanted to know how my holiday went and it got a bit monotonous answering the same questions all the time but they meant well. I’m kinda tired of the whole Florida thing right now so I’m probably done with the updates on it.
The big news this week is my promotion interview on Thursday. There are 4 candidates in total and I’m kinda pissed since I’m the only one genuinely interested in the job. The others are just hoping to pass the board for future vacancies. The reason why I resent it so much is the job would’ve simply been given to me on my own merit if there had been no more applicants. Nothing is ever easy for me and now I have to prepare for the damn interview. And, of course, everyone knows I have an interview and it’s going to be damn embarrassing if I screw it up since I’m considered the hot, favourite to win.
I actually think the interview is a piece of nonsense because I shouldn’t have to prove I can do a job I’ve already been doing since January but it is necessary since I’ll be going up a grade. The fact that they can overlook the interview when they want also makes it annoying.
