Quiet Sunday

I’ve been having a totally lazy weekend, messing around with both laptops. I took off a lot of stuff I wouldn’t be needing anymore on my old laptop and today, I spent some time on the Apple website following their tutorials for Windows users moving to Mac. It’s all starting to make sense at last! Most of Saturday, I used my old laptop as I was using Paint Shop Pro and I was definitely starting to miss some of the power behind the Mac. I had a look at Boot Camp to see what would be involved in installing Vista on to my Mac but I really don’t feel the expense is worth it since I have another laptop sitting there. Maybe I’ll consider it one day but certainly not at the moment. LOL! Finally discovered how to do all those CTRL + shortcuts on the Mac. What are you betting I’ll start getting confused between them? I also ordered a new mouse because the one I’m using drags on the Mac and I can’t stand a slow, heavy mouse experience. I tried to get used to the Trackpad but it frustrates me! *pokes it*

Okay, I promise I’m not going to go on about my Mac on every post from now on… In other news, er, not much has been happening. I’ve been doing some Christmas shopping and sorted the kids out (nephews and niece) so there will be some major wrapping up coming soon. I’m on holiday for a couple of days in December for my birthday and I guess we will start putting up the decorations and doing some wrapping. It’s so cold here just now, it’s actually starting to feel like Christmas.

Believe it or not, our Christmas work night out was on Saturday, although many decided, including me, not to go. We have a new Social Committee who basically decided to change everything this year and a lot of people weren’t happy with the decisions. They left the Christmas booking too late which is why they ended up with a date in November, too early for most people. People at work just really get on my nerves after a while because they are always complaining about something and it is so hard not to get dragged down with their mood. I’ve been really moody lately and I really think I’m suffering from stress. I’m so tired when I get home, I can’t even be bothered having a conversation with anyone. *sigh*

The public in this country are all so damn rude as well and it takes an extreme effort on my part to remain civil on the phone sometimes. As for lawyers, don’t even get me started. Ignorant and stupid. They charge extortionate fees for nothing and moan when we throw their work back at them when it is wrong. What would happen if we ignored their errors and the documents proved not to be legal when the time came to use them? Morons. Yeah, we have so little to do, we deliberately go out of our way to make life hard for you.

Rant over. I’m off for a shower and intend to lose myself in a book. I’ve finished Kate Mosse’s Labyrinth and have just started her new book, Sepulchre.

I’d be interested to hear what you think of Sepulchre. I quite enjoyed Labyrinth, perhaps a bit long (and a little gory for my taste), but I have been to Carcassonne so I felt somehow able to imagine it more easily. I haven’t read anything about Sepulchre yet.

A lazy weekend for me too but with a white night because the daughters went to a party!
I enjoy christmas and all the decorations. I’m on nerves at school too but waiting Christmas vacation and I decided never loose the smile even when people could make me cry!

claudie’s last blog post..Running! No! Not still! wednesday!

Oh been so long since I commented. You probably thought I fell off the face of the earth. Nope, just away on to fall trips and sick with dumb virus after each.

Mac Mac Mac. We don’t run both here, but now my son is in entertainment TV and Sound he uses Mac at school. His piece of a Mac is his external hard drive he brings home.

I know what you mean though. I could see our future having both. One that folks can email and play games on and one for all the graphics and video stuff.

I’m really curious about the Mac. Some day I’ll try :-)

What, you’re shocking me, I thought that all Scots where super polite people! They have been very polite when we’ve met people being over there. I guess people shape up when they notice that we’re tourists :-)
