My father too was a joykiller and he used to insult (politely) my mother which always finished up in tears ! This year I don't expect much from Christmas either, we have to go to Amsterdam to celebrate with my son, but the "DIL" is a rather strange dutch girl so it's not very exciting. Fortunately he has invited another couple and they are funny people. The best Christmases I ever spent was at my sons house in London ! Merry Christmas ! I've to say we' ll do christmas with my sister and her daughter but as you christmas isn't so lucky as before when I had my parents still. That is great that your manager is taking it easy on you. I remember that pain when I fell down the stairs. I put tiger balm on my shoulder at times.
