Flood Alerts Continue

We’ve had another few days of torrential rain and winds which have been causing devastation up and down the country. Yesterday, the rain never stopped at all and as you can see from the video below, the River Carron which runs through my home town, actually burst its banks and many roads had to be closed.

River Carron

There was a brilliant photo of cows swimming to safety after the River Beauly burst its banks up North in the newspaper this morning. I was hoping to find a copy of it on the net but no luck so far.

Oh my, that looks terrible ! I am glad that the rain stopped here since two days so far we didn’t have any overfloadings. I remember when I lived (as a child) in Bonn, the Rhine very often came out of it’s bed and all houses along the river were under water, it is terrible, because you are so helpless.
If you want to travel a little, I suggested Petra (Jordan) today.
