Can someone explain to me why I’m suddenly hooked on America’s Next Top Model when I hate reality television? I’m not sure why I care so much but I find myself tearing up when they get upset! LOL! The two best ones are such bitches as well. God, I’ll be watching American Idol next if I’m not careful… *wards off evil*
I had my work review last Thursday too and am happy to say I got a glowing report which is good to hear since I’m currently trying to cover two people’s jobs. I’m also being put forward for another bonus which is also good. I may not get selected but the good report still stands either way and this is my second.
I feel pretty tired just now and I’m not sure if that is down to the added pressure at work or not. Most of you who read this blog on a regular basis know that there is one girl in particular who is the bane of my life and over the past couple of weeks she has been driving me insane. I’ve been trying so hard not to let her get to me but she is like this big, dark cloud on my emotional well-being and she’s making everything so much more difficult. I actually let slip some of her deeds to my line manager but I’m not sure it will do any good because nothing has been done about it in the past. It’s all very well giving me glowing recommendations but it is all for nothing if my life at work is miserable.
I don’t know, sometimes the whole thing reminds me of high school again and being the swot while everyone around me does what they want.
I registered with this great site called Bookhopper which acts as an online library and I’m already loving it. Basically, it works by registering the books you are willing to swap so others can request them. In return, you can select books from other people’s bookshelves. No money changes hands. You need to pay the postage on any books you send but it works out because you are requesting other people do the same in return. You can either keep the books you request or you can put them back on your bookshelf to pass on again.
You are restricted to the number of books you can request depending on the amount you are offering. For example, you have ten books on your shelf so you can request one book every three weeks, however if you are sending out a lot of books you are entitled to request more books. One book every three weeks actually works well for me because I don’t get a lot of time to read these days. I’ve already had three requests for books and am waiting on my first request being sent.
It is such a simple idea and it means I can send for books that I’m interested in without having to buy them all the time or worry about late fees for the library.
I’m quite excited because my brother and his family are moving back to our town and for the first time in my life I get to do “the auntie thing”. I’ll be able to see the kids on their birthdays, at Christmas and get to take them to the cinema or theatre. Distance was always a prohibiting factor before but hopefully it will never be an issue again.
I really want to take my niece to a ballet and have been patiently waiting until she got a little older. She’s eight and I think she is more likely to sit through a long ballet now that she is a bit older. I’m thinking about “The Nutcracker Suite” because it is quite Christmas-y. She fell in love with ballet with the Barbie DVDs so I’m not sure yet if it is a real love or not. Time will tell. I’m the only one in my family who likes ballet so it would be nice to have someone else who loves it.

Invent a new flower; give it a name and describe it.
I’m not a big flower fan but I do love roses and always wanted a blue one. However, someone has already managed to create it

Name someone whom you think has a wonderful voice.
Hmm. If we are talking about singing then I would go for Marti Pellow, a Scottish singer, who most of you probably haven’t heard of. I also think Karen Carpenter had a beautiful voice - I’m not a fan of her music but if angels sing they will deffo sound like her.

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how clean do you keep your car?
I don’t have a car but I’d probably pay my nephew to clean it if I did since he loves cleaning his dad’s car.
Main Course
How do you feel about poetry?
I detest it. I had to study if for my English Lit degree and most of it was of the depressing variety. I do quite like William Blake though if I absolutely had to like someone.

What was the last person/place/thing you took a picture of?
I think it was my Edinburgh Castle pics since I haven’t had much time to take pics lately.
Oooh, haven’t done one of these in ages!
