I just upgraded to the new version of WP and am well impressed with the new Admin panel design! It looks like the designers have put a lot of thought and effort into it, although I’m sure there will be some people who find fault with it.
Personally, I’m just happy to have internet access again. I was working away yesterday on my old laptop but the internet kept going down on me. I thought it was down to the encryption I’d added to my Airport Extreme because my laptop’s card is really old hat. I gave up and went on to my Mac to discover Airport wasn’t showing up at all. A quick trip to the spare room revealed a blinking amber light. Uh oh!
I didn’t think too much about it because cable was playing up and I couldn’t access TV on Demand. Apparently, it is all connected so I gave up and switched the laptop off. It was still blinking amber this morning so I tried connecting my Mac straight to the cable modem and it worked instantly. I was really starting to worry Airport had gone belly up because I’ve read a lot of stories about Apple stuff dying after a year of use. Anyway, I went to the Apple support area and read the instructions on how to do a reset. I did that and it is working again. Yay! I guess the cable downtime did something to it.
I really wasn’t looking forward to spending £64 on a new one at this time of year. I do still have my old Netgear wifi so I guess that would’ve been the next step. I seem to be spending money like it is going out of fashion lately and I’ve no idea where it is all going!
It looks like Woolworths are finally admitting defeat and are starting to close some of their stores. When I was in town this morning, I noticed there were big queues at the tills again but they really didn’t have anything I wanted badly enough to warrant the wait. It’s going to seem strange not having a Woolworths in the high street and I feel quite nostalgic about it. For a long time, it was the only decent place to buy music in my town and I used to have to save my pocket money to buy the latest CD. It used to take me weeks to save but my mum was never one for just buying me things. She always said I was a good wee saver and I guess it taught me a lot about the value of money.
Even to this day, I’m not one for buying things on credit and tend to always wait until I have all or most of the money saved before I buy. I guess all those times I was unemployed helped as well because I couldn’t afford to buy much of anything in those days and I often did without. Today, when I see something I like, I have to remind myself that I can afford it and it is okay to have more than one of something. I guess old habits die hard.
