I’m leaving town for a few days sans laptop since I can’t get internet access where I’m going. It’s nothing glamorous, just my parents’ caravan in Ayrshire until next Wednesday. Egads, no internet until then! And more to the point, no little Simmies to play with!

I’m so obsessed with The Sims 2 right now, it’s not even funny. I usually just play it aimlessly but I started reading a few story blogs and it really fired up my imagination so much that I decided to create my own neighbourhood called Arcadia Falls. I’m in the process of setting it all up and I had no idea it was so much hard work! I’m going to be blogging the stories (have already started) but want to add a few more posts before I add the link.

Yeah, I know. Crazy Caledonia is always making new blogs! I can’t help myself and I love telling stories so it seems ideal to me. Sometimes I start the game up with a clear idea of what I want to happen but nothing is predictable in the world of The Sims so it’s very strange what I end up with. I had to work out so much stuff to enable me to take screen prints on my Mac since the community is predominately Windows but I got there in the end. I’m still feeling my way along and will probably adapt as time goes on and I work out my strategies. Yeah, strategies! Some players have incredibly detailed forms of government and other stuff in their neighbourhoods but I’m not really going to get into all that because it is way too complicated.

So, I’ve charged my iPod, packed a few books and DVDs to keep me going. I won’t be completely without The Sims though since I’m taking my DS with me and will be able to play My Sims. It won’t nearly be the same but it will keep me occupied for a while.
